Marc's favourite label was Alkasura; I wish I could find more information on them. Hopefully I will make a more detailed post on the label eventually when I see what I can dig up. In the meantime, you can see some Alkasura jacket lapels poking out in the image below. When I watch old T.Rex videos I love how layered and complicated single garments are. Incredibly theatrical and yet very wearable, I think:
And here are two rare and brilliant Alkasura Jackets you can buy at auction if you are super-rich. These textile prints are pretty wild. I love clothing that abandons traditional ideas of good taste and modesty - not for shock value alone - but simply because fashion rules are a blight on creativity. I adore the glam-rock aesthetic... cocky, androgynous, colourful, theatrical. What I wouldn't do to wear this ladybug number, even just once...
I would wear it with electric blue tailored pants and patent red loafers by day or and with a flared jumpsuit with killer platforms by night. sigh. 'keep a little Marc in yr heart', as Marc himself would say x
